Big Foot relishes WTCR overtaking in Morocco
Touring car legend Fabrizio Giovanardi is clearly a fan of progress based on his climb up the order from P22 to P14 in the second encounter at WTCR AFRIQUIA Race of Morocco on Sunday.
The driver known as Big Foot is part of Team Mulsanne’s two-car attack on the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO with a brace of Alfa Romeo Giuliettas.
“I had a lot of fun in the second race,” said Giovanardi, a multiple touring car champion. “Going from P22 to P14 was very fun and exciting. I hope my fans have enjoyed themselves as much as I have.”
Race 3 would prove less fun for Giovanardi after a brake issue caused an off before a broken oil sump forced his exit. “We have not yet had time to analyse what happened, but it could be overheating of the brakes. I still enjoyed doing the ‘number’ to keep the car away from the wall. Unfortunately, the broken oil sump prevented me from continuing. But we have learned a lot and I am satisfied. We are discovering the secrets of the Giulietta. Positive results will come.”
