Ehrlacher moves on from Vila Real WTCR woe confident “pace was there”
Yann Ehrlacher reckons the Vila Real positives outweigh the negatives as he revs up for this week’s WTCR Race of Slovakia aiming to recapture the lead of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.
Ehrlacher, 22, lost his title advantage after he was caught up in the multi-car accident in Race 1 and left Portugal with just two seventh-place finishes to show for his efforts in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR.
Heading to the Slovakia Ring for the first time, 22 points behind title pace-setting uncle Yvan Muller, Frenchman Ehrlacher said: “Vila Real is done, I just keep the positive things which was P2 in Q2 for only my second time there and the pace was there.
“I had unlucky races but that’s how it is in motorsport sometimes. You don’t always have good weekends but it’s in the past and I remember as well how great the team was, how they repaired the car overnight. All the humans together in the team were perfect and this is good for Slovakia.”
