Augusto Farfus has gone for “clean” over “sophisticated” when designing his racing number for his first season in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.

Hyundai-powered Farfus, a frontrunner in the FIA World Touring Car Championship and DTM in the past, is one of seven FIA world title winners on the #WTCR2019SUPERGRID.

The Brazilian, who has been testing the Hyundai i30 N TCR he will race in WTCR / OSCARO of late, explained the thinking behind his design, which incorporates the #8 he has used since he started racing motorbikes in his homeland in the early 1990s.

“I did a very simple design,” said Farfus. “The number should show what the number is, I didn’t want something very sophisticated, I wanted a very clean design and hopefully you guys are going to like it. It’s going to be a great season and a great championship is waiting for us.”
