Guerrieri tests the limits in WTCR
Race-winning WTCR / OSCARO driver Esteban Guerrieri has explained his spin at the end of Free Practice 2 in Slovakia.
The Argentine completed the 30-minute session P10 in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic Type R TCR having gone all-out on his final lap to go even quicker.
“I went on the grass a little bit with a very loaded car because of the characteristic of the corner and the rear went under the kerb more than the front let’s say and I just lost the rear,” Guerrieri explained afterwards. “I wanted to close the lap and I just kept pushing. I wanted to see if the car could cope going that way and now I have to go one step back.”
The Hondas of Guerrieri, his team-mate Néstor Girolami, Tiago Monteiro and Attila Tassi are carrying the maximum 60 kilograms of compensation weight at WTCR Race of Slovakia. Guerrieri reckoned it was having an effect. “It looks like it, I hope it’s this, otherwise we are not that strong I would say. You feel it a lot on a long track.”
