Niels Langeveld starts his home round of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO with this confidence boosted after he landed his first points of the season in Slovakia last weekend.

Langeveld had been the only WTCR / OSCARO racer without a score in 2019 but that changed with at the Slovakia Ring where he completed the weekend with a fine fourth place finish in Race 3.

“I had a car that allowed me to fight,” said the Dutchman, part of the Comtoyou Team Audi Sport line-up. “We still can’t quite keep up with some of the other cars in the series but it was nice to be able to claim fourth place. Yes, just off the podium, but I’d rather be on the podium in the best way that I can. So on the top step, and preferably at home at Zandvoort!

“I go to Zandvoort with lots of confidence. The Slovakia Ring was a good weekend that allowed me to score a big dollop of points. I want to extend this progress to a great performance at my home track. I know it will work – I just get so much energy from the vision of Zandvoort’s dunes packed with Dutch fans.”
