Norbert Michelisz had only one request when he commissioned his designer to come up with the logo that will form the basis of his number design in this year’s WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.

Michelisz’s design incorporates his now-famous number ‘5’, plus his two favourite colours, as the Hyundai-powered Hungarian explained.

“A couple of years ago I felt the need for a personal logo,” said Michelisz. “My only request to the designer is that it should include my favourite colours, which are black and white, plus the number ‘5’. He took for the logo the first letter from my first and surname plus the number ‘5’. We just wanted to have a format for the number which suits the letters the best and this is why we have this format. Plus, we found red looks the best with the black and white combination.”

WTCR / OSCARO promoter Eurosport Events is inviting drivers to submit their own race number designs for 2019. While they won’t feature on the sides or windscreens of the competing cars in accordance with the WTCR / OSCARO sporting regulations from the FIA, they will have several uses to appeal to fans, including television graphics and autograph session display material.
