Muller: Everything is possible in WTCR title fight

Yvan Muller isn’t giving up on becoming the inaugural winner of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO, despite trailing Gabriele Tarquini by 39 points heading to the Macau season finale next week.

Muller is the most successful driver in World Touring Car history with four titles to his name. However, he’ll have to be at his brilliant best to prevent fellow Hyundai i30 N TCR driver Tarquini from claiming championship honours with three races remaining.

“Maybe we lost the championship but everything is possible,” said Frenchman Muller, who came out of retirement to race for his eponymous team in 2018. “Until it’s not mathematically possible you never give up. Macau is Macau and there are a lot of points [available].”

Muller is one of seven drivers in contention for the WTCR OSCARO title at next week’s season showdown, which doubles as the prestigious Suncity Group Macau Guia Race.
