Yvan Muller has spoken of his pride after nephew Yann Ehrlacher joined him on the Hungaroring list of winners following his maiden victory in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO at the venue last Saturday.

Ehrlacher beat ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport team-mate Esteban Guerrieri to the top spot on the podium at a track where Muller has won four times in the past.

“Of course I’m very pleased,” said Muller. “Probably the first time he came here he was on my knee and bouncing and now he’s winning and on the winner list. The only thing I didn’t think I would still be in the car when he would be on the top place of the podium. It’s a strange feeling but a nice feeling.”

Ehrlacher, who moved to second in the title standings following his Hungary heroics, said: “It feels great already to be on the same grid and even on this list for the winning driver in Hungary.”
