Aurélien Panis scored a season-best fourth when the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car presented by OSCARO visited Japan last week – his effort acknowledged by Audi Sport customer racing head Chris Reinke.

Panis joined fellow Audi RS 3 LMS racers Denis Dupont, Jean-Karl Vernay and Frédéric Vervisch in scoring points at WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan.

But with all Audi drivers running 60 kilograms of compensation weight, Head of Audi Sport customer racing Reinke was quick to highlight their achievement.

“The conditions were very tricky with the heavy weights for our drivers,” said Reinke. “That makes it all the more remarkable that four drivers managed to bring home a total of 53 points over the course of the weekend, and Aurélien Panis even achieved his personal best.”
