Priaulx gets a Spa break after tough WTCR weekend
Andy Priaulx will put a tough WTCR Race of Hungary weekend to the back of his mind as he heads to Belgium for a Spa break with a difference.
Priaulx will contest the FIA World Endurance Championship-counting 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in a Ford GT, two weeks after a “tough weekend” in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.
Driving a Cyan Performance Lynk &Co 03 TCR, Priaulx left Hungary with a best of P12 in Race 1.
“It was a really tough weekend,” said the three-time winner of the FIA World Touring Car Championship. “It was promising in terms of qualifying performance, but the races didn’t go well. I had damage in Race 2 and had to retire, but the team did a really good job turning the car round very quickly to get me out for the final race. Then, despite some damage, it was just a matter or finishing and getting some more time getting used to a front wheel drive car again.”
