Kevin Ceccon, a race winner in the the inaugural WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO, has explained why he’s chosen red for his number design and why ’31’ is more than just a number.

Ceccon, who will chase more WTCR / OSCARO glory in 2019, is a highly rated prospect from Italy and tipped for success in his Team Mulsanne Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris.

“I decide to keep the 31 as last year,” said Ceccon. “It came like this because the number ‘3’ can be seen as the number ‘e’ in my name and the number ‘1’ can be seen like the ‘i’ in my name. And we keep it red because it is the colour of passion, of Alfa Romeo and also Romeo Ferraris. As we are an Italian project with an Italian driver, Italian car and Italian team, we deice to keep the flag of Italy also in this number.”

WTCR / OSCARO promoter Eurosport Events is inviting drivers to submit their own race number designs for 2019. While they won’t feature on the sides or windscreens of the competing cars in accordance with the WTCR / OSCARO sporting regulations from the FIA, they will have several uses to appeal to fans, including television graphics and autograph session display material.
