Gabriele Tarquini knew five years ago that Kevin Ceccon would have what it takes to be successful in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.

Ceccon impressed with the DHL Pole Position for Race 3 at WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan yesterday, his first in the championship and the first for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris and Team Mulsanne.

Tarquini, the WTCR OSCARO title leader who will join Ceccon on the front row of the grid for Race 3 in his BRC Racing Team Hyundai i30 N TCR, said: “I know him since five years ago and at one point I think I push him to try [touring] cars. He’s one of the big talents of Italy – he was a good single-seater driver but he’s very good also in [touring] cars.”
