Two WTCR fourths make for a happy Ehrlacher
Yann Ehrlacher left Marrakech a happy Honda driver after netting a brace of fourth-place finishes at WTCR AFRIQUIA Race of Morocco yesterday (Sunday).
After finishing seventh in Saturday’s opener, Ehrlacher improved on day two with two strong results in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport entry.
“I finished fourth twice so of course I’m happy,” said the French youngster. “I was very pleased with my start in Race 2 as I went around the outside of the mess and went up from sixth to fourth and my pace was good enough to hold on to the cars in front of me in both races.
“I wasn’t so happy with qualifying [on Saturday], but the team did a great job to get the car working better for me and I had the confidence to push harder and make Q3. Everything worked out very well from that point.”
Esteban Guerrieri and James Thompson were also in action for Germany-based ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport during the first event of the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO season.
Guerrieri’s charge from P13 to eighth in Race 2 was the highlight for the Argentine, whose Race 3 bid ended following a clash with John Filippi. Thompson, starting his first race for 18 months, placed sixth in Race 2.
