Wildcard Tse counts on Teamwork for WTCR debut
Teamwork Motorsport will make its debut in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO in Macau next week, fielding an Audi RS 3 LMS for home wildcard racer Kevin Tse.
It will be Teamwork’s first time racing in an FIA world championship in five years, and comes two years after the outfit last competed in the Suncity Group Guia Race.
“I am very pleased to be working with Teamwork Motorsport again for the upcoming Macau WTCR race,” said Tse. “In 2016 we raced together in the TCR Asia Series and we were second overall in the championship, so I know the team is very professional and can deliver good results.
“As for the Macau race it will be a very tough challenge. There’s a field of world-class drivers and teams, who have been racing for the whole year and therefore have tons of knowledge and set-up reference for their cars and the Yokohama tyres. We will have a few days to hopefully gain as much set-up knowledge before heading to Macau. Making the 105 per cent qualifying cut is our first objective, and then hopefully we will finish well in the three races.”
Teamwork is set for a busy week in Macau as it will run five cars in the supporting FOOD4U Macau Touring Car Cup.
