Newcomer Mikel Azcona says he’s “super-positive” ahead of this week’s WTCR Race of Slovakia.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has impressed on his step up to the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO as the TCR Europe champion, scoring a podium in Morocco and two fourths in Hungary.

Now he’s switching his focus to the Slovakia Ring, where the third event of the all-action second season takes place from 10-12 May.

“I’m feeling super-positive about our progress and can’t wait to go to Slovakia Ring,” said the PWR Racing CUPRA driver.

Azcona’s PWR team-mate and joint team boss Daniel Haglöf is also heading to Slovakia in buoyant mood after landing his maiden podium at the Hungaroring last month.
